Who is Texas SHRM?

In 2004, I joined Armstrong Relocation and Companies and started networking with different groups to build a network in the community. One of the groups I came across was DallasHR, a local SHRM chapter for HR professionals in Dallas, Texas.  As I got more involved as a board member, I became a member of SHRM (Society for Human Resources Members) as well. This organization supports over 200,000 HR professionals globally. In 2012, I became the president of DallasHR, which also included representing our chapter on the Texas SHRM state council as one of 32 chapters across the great state of Texas. I hadn’t heard of this group until I got involved in DallasHR leadership and was interested in learning more.

Fast forward to 2019 when I started serving on the Texas SHRM state council serving as a District Director for local SHRM chapters across the state of Texas. It’s an incredible opportunity to be on this journey with so many amazing local SHRM leaders. So who is Texas SHRM?

Texas SHRM is a purposeful organization focused on supporting 32 chapters and over 20,000 members in Texas to ultimately enhance and promote HR professionals and the HR profession.

We are mission driven “Connecting and Supporting SHRM chapter leaders to elevate the HR profession through education, advocacy, and leadership development.”
