Cake For Everyone…
“Move To Inspire” Word Count 296 | 2.4 Minutes
This week I traveled up north to the great state of Oklahoma to share my “great leaders are grateful leaders” message from the book Life in the Leadership Lane… Building a culture of gratitude can be done in many ways which include:
Sending notes of encouragement, (Frank Blake sent 100 notes per week for 7 years),
Integrating meeting appreciations (we do this in Texas SHRM),
Team member recognition, and more.
When I walked into the room to set up my presentation, I noticed a cake that read “Congratulations Daisy, SHRM-SCP”. I looked over at Mary and said wow, this is really special. It was something so little – walk into a bakery, ask them to put a message on a cake… but it was so big showing recognition for one of the members. During my presentation, Mary cut the cake and passed out a piece to all of the attendees. It gave me gratitude to get to experience the moment. What a special day and it was because someone took the time to create the moment. Great work Mary!
